Four Star Veterinary Service Pork Industry Conference postponed until July 21; same place, same speakers

The 2020 Pork Industry Conference organized by Four Star Veterinary Service has been rescheduled to July 21. It will feature the same speakers and location as announced earlier.

The change in schedule was made to protect attendees from a potential threat of coronavirus.

Registration continues to be open for the conference that will be held at the Grand Wayne Convention Center, 1020 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, Indiana. The host, Four Star Veterinary Service, is a business with locations in five states and 17 veterinarians focused on pig health.

Pork trends, challenges

This year’s conference focuses on the latest trends and challenges facing the pork industry as well as solutions. A case study of African swine fever (ASF) recovery and the lifetime effects of perinatal programming are two of the featured talks to be delivered.

Other topics include an industry outlook by an Ohio producer, ASF biosecurity plans, feed biosecurity, and how trade and the world economy affect the swine industry.

New on the program this year are breakout sessions with experts on economics, nursery/finisher, nutrition, show pigs, sows and water quality. Four Star veterinarians will be involved in these sessions.

Registration includes breakfast and lunch. Early bird registration is $25 per person. After July 6, 2020, registration is $40.
